In this special Community Spotlight episode, we sit down with Corey Hebert to talk about one of south Louisiana’s most anticipated summer events—the Blue Boot Fishing Rodeo. From humble beginnings, the Blue Boot Rodeo has grown into a three-day celebration of family, fishing, and community spirit.

Corey gives us the inside scoop on what’s planned for this year’s rodeo—from the fishing tournament with categories for every angler, to live music, kids’ activities, and even unique events like Bingo & Mimosas and the popular Cornhole Tournament. With weigh-ins at Moran’s Marina and a weekend full of festivities, there’s something for all ages—whether you’re competing for a spot on the leaderboard or just there for the good food and great music.

We also talk with Group Chat’s own Damien and Tommy about their roles on the Reel American Fishing Team and how they’re preparing to (hopefully) not finish last this year.
